How to Replace the Cartridge on Kitchen Faucet SC101

• Water supply to the faucet must be turned off, see article How to safely shut off water supply to a Faucet or Shower
• Ensure the kitchen sink drain is securely plugged to avoid any potential loss of parts during the process.

Tools recommended: 

• 2.5mm (3/32 inch) Allen key
• Pince à bec fin
• An adjustable wrench.

Disassembly Step A: Using a 2.5 mm (3/32) Allen key, remove the set screw (2) located on the back of the lever (1). If you have difficulties accessing the set screw hole in the handle, you may have to loosen the faucet mounting hardware under the sink and rotate the body of the faucet to access it. Make sure to re-tighten it after the repair. Step B: Unthread the lever (1) counterclockwise to remove it. Step C: Pull out spring (3) and handle swivel (4) from the cartridge stem (8). Step D: Lift off handle spacer and plastic washer (5). Step E: Unscrew the handle cap (6) counterclockwise to remove from cartridge nut (7). Step F: Using an adjustable wrench loosen the cartridge nut (7) by rotating it counterclockwise. If the nut is stuck, spray a 50/50 water/white vinegar solution on it to remove limescale deposits, and let it sit for a couple of hours. Step G: Pull out the cartridge. Assembly Step A: Insert cartridge (8) into the valve body making sure to align the 2 pins with the holes on the cartridge body. Step B: Tighten the cartridge nut (7) onto the valve body by turning it clockwise. Do not overtightened. Step C: Thread the handle cap (6) onto the top of the cartridge nut (7). Step D: Place the plastic washer followed by the handle spacer (5) on the handle dome (6). Step E: Insert the handle swivel (4) followed by the spring (3) on the cartridge stem (8). Step F: Thread the lever (1) onto the cartridge stem (8). Step G: Using a 2.5 mm (3/32) Allen key, tighten the hex screw (2) into the back of the lever (1). Step H: Put the water back on and test the faucet. Ensure that the washer (5) under the handle slides freely when the handle is operated. If water leaks through the handle, tighten the cartridge nut another 1/4 turn more.​​
